Summary:

As behavioral health providers, our understanding of gender identity directly impacts client engagement, treatment outcomes, and workplace culture. This panel brings together gender-diverse professionals and experienced clinicians to explore the role of gender identity competence in behavioral healthcare. Panelists will discuss how a client’s relationship to gender identity can influence treatment experiences, barriers to care for gender-diverse individuals, and the unique perspectives of gender-diverse professionals working within behavioral health settings. Attendees will leave with practical insights to strengthen inclusive referral practices, improve admissions conversations, and support affirming clinical environments.
